With lots of my friends and coworkers being either pregnant or having adorable little babies, it seems that I have been knitting baby items for awhile. Here are some of the little helm-protectors that I have finished lately:
Gender neutral for a little one
Little Pumpkin hat
Little Pom-pomed Earflap hat
Little scallops for a little head
Also … I’ve been drooling over knitting needle bracelets or bangles ever since I saw them on Etsy years ago. A few weeks ago, I managed to make one of my own. I used this online tutorial, but the temperature setting for the metal needles only worked well with the smaller gauge needles. This bracelet was a size 1 needle.
Knitting needle bracelets – beautiful and dangerous 😉
Some Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli baby knits happened. Hayao Miyazaki is the Japanese film director who has created such gems as Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, and Spirited Away.

Kiki’s Bow Booties
These cute knits were made to pay homage to the fire demon, Calcifer, from Howl’s Moving Castle; Kiki’s big red hair bow in Kiki’s Delivery Service; and My Neighbor Totoro. Let me know what you think.

More of my friends are having little bundles of joy this year. More baby knitting is on the horizon and this is just the start.
One pink baby ear flap hat
Ending with a simple tassel
I enjoyed knitting this hat. The design is beautiful and results in ear flaps without joining lines. The short rows reminded me of turning the heel for knitted sock patterns and were not overly complicated. The ending tassel was a simple embellishment to an adorable hat. I will definitely be making more of these – Maybe one for myself.

One of my dearest cousins is expecting a little baby boy early next year. This means that little baby stuff must be knitted.
Little Deer Hat
Deer Hat and Blanket
Hat, Blanket, and Warm Booties
The baby blanket was bought from Etsy seller JuteBaby. The base of the hat uses my basic knitted baby hat pattern, but the antlers and ears were knitted using the Woodland Stag Deer Baby Hat pattern. The warm booties were knitted using the Chaussons Mignons pattern.

Some dear friends are expecting their first child and I decided that they needed a cute knitted hedgehog rattle.

A friend of ours had a little baby girl recently. To celebrate her birth, I knitted up a little owl rattle & a cute owl pacifier clip. Little purple owls just seem to be perfect for her. 🙂
I have finished some presents that I was making for the Baby Hardaway. I dropped off the package to be sent to her expecting parents and now I just have to wait until the precious bundle of joy arrives to use the cute gifts.
